Kid TeePees for Christmas

Family friend's of ours have two daughters (like us!). Their dad decided to surprise them and their mom with handmade teepees for Christmas. They had seen some at a craft fair here in Chicago and his wife loved them, but they didn't buy one at the time. That was a good call. He was able to pick exactly the fabrics he wanted (from Fabric.com) and I guarantee the quality is top notch ;) I love how these turned out so much that my kiddos might be getting one in the near future.

The fabric is Indoor/Outdoor canvas (sturdy and resistant to stains and color fade due to sun exposure). The front one is green with white polka dots with solid yellow pole pockets. The back one is pumpkin colored orange and white chevron stripe with solid navy pole pockets. The flaps are trimmed out with white bias tape. The poles are PVC pipes with end caps. The design inspiration comes from HipHuts.

We got these done just in time for Christmas. I finished the sewing and passed them off at 10pm on Christmas Eve and the dad set them up in their newly finished basement while the children were nestled all snug in their beds. I can't wait to hear how the girls (and their mom) reacted!
